Earth died singing
Earth died singing
Of grass bending in the wind
She closed her eyes against
The long blue sky
And loosed her last breath
To quavering trees
Exfoliating the edges
Of her old memory
It’s been a couple of months at least since I’ve written an environmental awareness poem. Is it just me or did I write a ton of those in 5th grade?
